Being
a Warhammer player I finally took it upon myself to choose
an army of my own, the Tau. Well they are an alien race, bla
bla bla, so I got some cool models to build, being the Hammerhead
main battle tank and the Devilfish armored personnel carrier.
Both kits are exactly the same right out of the box save one
sprue for the Hammerhead that has the choice of main guns and
its turret.
On
the sprue each kit is very well crafted, almost no visible
defects. I have partially constructed the Devilfish, so far
I've found no bad seams or construction problems, only your
choice of a few options like leaving hatches open, a few
equiptment options and such. The only noticeable lines are
mild mold lines but a file or sandpaper takes care of these.
. It also comes with a commander figure you can have looking
with his binoculars and a mild interior if you want to have
it open. Instructions are short and straight forward. Finally
it has a decal sheet of several sects of Tau to choose from
and light and dark markings to choose from depending on what
color scheme you go with.
I had
hoped to make the 2 kits interchangeable completely (for game
play configure 2 tanks or 2 apc's or one of each) by buying
the turret sprue (available separate for like 6 bucks) and
having 2 sets of nose options (they differ from the mbt to
the apc) but the way the nose turret is done I'm gonna have
to think about it.
Over
all, the kit is excellent and is a good indicator of what you
can expect from a Games Workshop model.
