MODELFEST 2008

 

IPMS Space Coast would like to invite ALL modelers to come out and join the fun at our MODELFEST 2008.  The contest will be held at the Elk’s Lodge, 2955 Columbia Blvd, on S.R. 405 in Titusville, Fl. 

 

NOTABLES

            1st, 2nd, & 3rd place awards will be given in over 65 categories.

            7,500 sq. ft. of display and vendor area.

            Over 60 vendor tables at our last event!

            Great raffle prizes.

            Kennedy Space Center and Valiant Air Command Museum only minutes away.

            Many reasonable hotels and campgrounds within minutes.

            All-you-can-eat breakfast, Sunday morning at the Elk’s Lodge Dining Room (not included in                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Registration Fee).

             Make and Take (model building seminar) for the little people in the family.

 

GENERAL INFORMATION AND RULES

 

1. Models may be made of any material, i.e. plastic, wood, metal etc.

2. Awards will be given in all categories.  Special categories will only have one award.

 3. No self propelled or radio-controlled models will be allowed entered in the contest.

 4. Junior division is limited to modelers who have not reached their 18th birthday as of April 12th, 2004.  Modelers who qualify as Junior may enter any category if they wish; however, they may not enter more than one category with any model.  Juniors will be eligible to win specialty awards.

Junior categories will be split as follows:  Juniors 12 and under and Juniors 13 and over.

 5. Contest judges are not permitted to judge a category in which they are entered.

 6. Bases will be allowed in all categories and will not be considered during judging except in the Diorama categories.  Such bases will be limited to a depiction of the natural surface, which the subject would be found (grass, tarmac, etc.)  Any additions to such base will place it in the Diorama category.

 7. The entrant will determine the category of each model.  The Contest Chairman reserves the right to move the entries to another category if such move is clearly warranted.  All such moves will be made following the notification of the entrant.

8, There will be no new categories (other than splits) created after the beginning of registration.

 9. For contest purposes, multi-engined, fuselage mounted, (i.e.: F-4, A-6, F-14, P-38 etc.)  Will be considered single engine and entered in the appropriate category.

10. All categories will be judged with experienced “competition” modelers as judges.  We owe it to each entrant to conduct the judging with the utmost integrity and fairness.  Judging will be conducted in a constructive and positive manner.

11. Out of the Box entries must be an unmodified commercially produced kit, with the kit instruction provided next to the model.  Seams may be filled if necessary, rigging, antennas and paper seat belts may be added.  Entry may be painted as desired and substitute decals may be used.

12. IPMS Space Coast reserves the rights to move any models deemed inappropriate for general audience viewing to a special curtained viewing area that can be entered at ones own discretion.  IPMS Space Coast will not be required to justify its decision to move models.

13.  By submitting a model for entry to this contest, and entrant shall agree to all rules.

 

SHOW ENTRY FEES

$10.00 – Adult Registration (Up to 5 entries)

$ 8.00 – IPMS Adult Registration (Up to 5 entries) with current IPMS Membership Card

$ 1.00 – Each additional Entry

$10.00 – Absentee (Up to 5 entries)

$ 3.00 – Junior Entry

$25.00 – Vendor Tables (Paid for prior to March 1, 2008)  $30.00 after March 1, 2008
